Retreat Policies
Important Retreat Information
We ask that you contribute to the quiet atmosphere of the retreat. Please use headphones if you play any audio or video devices. Please be respectful of your neighbors in surrounding rooms and shared common areas.
Krishnamurti Retreat is a vegetarian retreat; please do not bring, cook or consume meat on the premises.
The retreat is for healthy living. No drugs, alcohol, or smoking is allowed on the premises.
Due to the nature of our retreat we are sorry that we cannot accommodate children (under 18).
While we love pets, we are not equipped to accept pets other than service dogs. According to the ADA, service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
Guests and visitors are not allowed to pick fruit or herbs on our property.
All retreat rooms are for one guest only.
Our Cancellation Policy
As a small independently owned retreat, cancellations affect us dearly.
A $50 cancellation fee will be charged for all cancellations made up to 3 days prior to the reservation start date. If a reservation is cancelled less than 3 days prior, a one night stay will be charged. For a no-show the full stay will be charged.
For multi-room reservations, a $50 cancellation fee applies to the first two rooms, with an additional $50 charged for each additional room.
Holiday weekends and long-term reservations have a cancellation period of 7 days prior to arrival.
Reducing the number of days of a stay or changing the dates of a stay is considered the same as a cancellation and you will be subject to the same policy as stated above. The minimum stay requirement will still apply.
Early departures before the scheduled check-out date will constitute a cancellation and monies will not be refundable.
General Retreat Policies
We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Discover.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, Krishnamurti Retreat does not charge sales tax, however, as of November 1st, 2015, an 8% Ventura County Transient Occupancy tax will be added to each reservation.
Rooms may be reserved for 2 nights or up to 30 nights. We require a two-night minimum. Special event/holiday weekends, and long-term reservations have different cancellation periods.
We accept payment by cash, check or credit card. Your card will be charged for the full reservation amount at the time of check-in. See cancellation policy above.
Reservations can be made by calling the Krishnamurti Retreat. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and must be secured with a valid credit card.
Do not burn candles, incense, oils or other incendiary materials. No fires are allowed in any fireplace.
For rooms with full kitchens or kitchenettes please keep the dishes washed and the kitchen cleaned and remove all your food from the refrigerator when you check out. Guests will be responsible for any breakage or missing inventory. A kitchen clean-up charge will be assessed if the kitchen is not as it was when rented.
We ask that you plan your travel to arrive within our designated check-in window of 3:00-6:00pm, as we are a small retreat and greatly appreciate your punctuality. Your timely arrival helps us ensure the best possible experience for all our guests.
Check-out is at 11:00am.
Guests are responsible for any damage(s) caused to the rooms or the property by themselves or their visitors during their stay. In the event of any damage to the room or property, the cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking. An itemized invoice will be provided. In the case of significant damage, an incident report will be filed and may be shared with the appropriate authorities if necessary.
Guests will be held responsible for any extraordinary cleaning required due to misuse, neglect, or excessive messiness. This includes but is not limited to stained bedding, furniture, or flooring.
Please do not move furniture or fixtures within the room. Any damage resulting from such actions will be assessed and charged accordingly.
The retreat is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please ensure valuables are properly secured.
Any damage noticed upon check-in should be reported to the front desk immediately to avoid any misunderstandings.
